Change in Designation of Coordinating Heads of Department (CHOD) and Principal Heads of Department (PHOD) in Zonal Railways/PUs – Railway Board Order

Sub: Change in Designation of PHODs and CHODs in Zonal Railways/PUs.

Ref: RWP/Bela letter No. CAO/RWP/Bela/PU-Corres, dated 18.12.2018

A Reference from CAO/RWP/BELA on the above subject matter was received requesting that SAG Officers (heading the Department) be designated as PCMM, PCME, PFA etc. to carry out the duties of CHOD as per Model SOP.

The matter was examined and in order to bring in uniformity across the organisations, Board (MRS, MTR, FC, CRB) has now decided that:-

“The change in designation of Coordinating Heads of the Department and Principal Heads of the Department (in SAG/HAG/NFHAG) from COS to PCMM, CME to PCME, FA&CAO to PFA etc should be followed in all the Zonal Railways/PUs uniformly irrespective of whether they are headed by GMs or CAOs”.

This issues with the concurrence of Associate Finance of Transformation Cell of Railway Board
