Subject: Engagement of delivery staff/RMS staff in non delivery or non mail related activities – reg.
A review of the delivery performance of Premier as well as Registered and unregistered mail has revealed that delivery arrangement at the post offices need to be strengthened. Further, it has also been observed that delivery staff working in Post Offices including Branch Post Offices (BOs) for delivery of mail as well as staff working in Railway Mail Services (RMS) offices (NSH/CH/CRC/Mail Offices/BPC/BNPL Centres) are increasingly being assigned non-delivery/non-mail related activities.
2. Engagement of delivery staff/RMS staff in non-delivery or non-mail related activities has adversely affected the delivery/sorting work in the field and in some instances has also resulted in delivery of mail.
3. Therefore, it is requested that Circles may avoid the engagement of delivery staff/RMS staff in non-delivery or non-mail related activities.
4. Circles may also forward a compliance report certifying that the delivery staff/RMS staff have not been engaged in non-delivery or non-mail related activities.
5. Compliance report may kindly be forward on e-mail i.d. email@example.com by 30th November, 2019.
